BY CAR
All the top car rental agencies are represented in San Jose and Liberia, both sites of international airports. To travel to Nosara, four-wheel-drive-cars are handy, but in dry season not really necessary.
From San Jose the journey is 5 hours along the scenic Pan American Highway.
From Liberia the journey is 3 hours. There are plenty of restaurants and shops on both routes for your enjoyment. A taxi or van can pick you up and bring you directly to Camp Alegre.
BY AIRPLANE
If driving is not what you had in mind, fly into San Jose, then fly on Sansa Airlines or Nature Air directly into Nosara. It is just a 45 minute flight.

BY BUS
For you budget conscious, early risers, Alfaro Bus Company departs from San José to Nosara daily at 5:30 a.m., leaving from the Alfaro Coca-Cola bus terminal, 14th Street and 5th Avenue (Calle 14, Avenida 5). Fare is about $8.00 and it takes between 6 and 7 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The telephone number is: 2222-2750 or 2223-8229. Buy your ticket at least one day before your departure.
From Nicoya: Local bus (telephone number 2685 53 52) from Nicoya to Nosara at approximately 10 a.m., 12 o’clock, 3 p.m. |
